Did the U-T's Website Get Hacked?

All of a sudden this afternoon the U-T's website, signonsandiego.com, had missing images and a page that was apparently from 2004.

T-Shirts were on sale at the Museum of Photographic Arts screening.

I missed the Padres game on June 23, but instead celebrated Joss Whedon's birthday with a bunch of (other) Browncoats, who are fans of the "Firefly" television series and the movie, "Serenity". During the "Can't Stop the Serenity" event, forty-seven screenings of Serenity all across the globe raised money for Joss Whedon's favorite charity Equality Now, an international human rights organizaion dedicated to action for the civil, political, economic and social rights of girls and women.  I had the pleasure of attending the screening at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park. 

Surfrider Foundation Summer Soulstice Shindig

The San Diego Chapter of the the Surfrider Foundation is having their monthly meeting this week and celebrating International Surfer Day at both Mission Beach and by the Oceanside Pier:

The San Diego County Chapter will be holding two beach parties/cleanups to help celebrate International Surfing Day.

1) Mission Beach, Belmont Park, meet at the grass by the south end of the parking lot, 6:00 to 8:00PM.

2) Oceanside, South side of the Pier, meet at the grass by the parking lot and restrooms, 6:00 to 8:00PM.

Both are going to be a beach party combined with a beach cleanup. We encourage everyone to bring their surfboard, bodyboard, wetsuit, beach chair or whatever it takes for you to enjoy the ocean or beach. Refreshments will be provided. The public is welcome to join us, anyone under 18 needs a parent's signature to help with the beach cleanup. All supplies will be provided. More details will be coming soon.
